Nice! All really wonderfully potent things to harvest when you can!

I'm such a newbie forager that I don't trust myself with mushrooms yet...but this week I discovered milkweed! We've made some flower syrup from blossoms and we steamed some buds to include in a oriental-style stir fry with sauteed yucca flowers and magnolia bud "pickled ginger". Delicious!

We're harvesting tons of catnip, borage, mullein and chamomile. We're foraging plantain right now. We've had so much rain! It's hard to get out and forage for anything.

I know! We're so burried in rain, I wish it'd let up for a while.

I have gleaned some good tips from this channel, Kand Dadi, Azerbeijan based. Low tech country living, mostly visual (nice and quiet) videos showing regular people going about their daily lives, lots of cooking outside, very detailed information if you watch closely. And chickens, ducks, sheep milking;

Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCStAajG2QKMGvefcA0ja8gw What do you think? I never sign into Youtube, and wish this was not on Youtube, but....still worth a watch, many videos.

I have seen this channel and it's really impressive. They do some amazing stuff (and have really good camera work).

I agree, good production on Kand Dadi videos. I figgered you may have heard of them. Beautifully subversive. I wish I knew if the doves or pigeons they are keeping are for the meat as well, I havent seem them cook up any of 'the cooing ones' yet.....my grandma, originally from Romania, would trade chickens with her neighbor on slaughter day, so they wouldn't have to kill the ones they were friendly with. A bit less harsh, eh? best and thanks Ashley

I just put up two jars of pickled evening primrose seed pods. This is to use instead of EPO supplements, which contain harmful additives.
