Great Kevin, so glad it was helpful to you. I just checked, and the electric canner I love is still the same price on amazon it has been all year (about $280). And it's $330 from presto, and neither is running a sale =(. So sad on that one.

I'm SO disappointed that Berkey is not producing any more. Been using them for a long time.

EPA dont give a $h1t about us!! Searched on Yandex and found the below comparison list of available filters. Hope it helps.

WTF!!!??? Been a Berkey buyer from when the filters were 75.00$. (Glad I bought an extra pair.} They just want us DEAD!! Do you have any info on the Boru (whatever) filters? I will research myself, but just wondering if you have any info.

Thanks for all you do.

Oh my goodness, I know! Vent away! I'm right there with you.

I'm so incredibly frustrated by what's happening, and there are really so few other options for just basic daily water filtration. You search "alternatives to a berkey" and you get reddit discussion forums about how you can just use a lifestraw...as if drinking a sip out of a puddle is the same as filtering all my whole families daily water for drinking and cooking. That's gallon after gallon every single day.

My parents in California actually drive to a "water store," where they buy filtered water by the gallon and fill up their reusable containers each week, simply because filters like a berkey were never available in California (couldn't get through the red tape). I tried to buy them one years ago, and was told that they just couldn't be shipped to California because of the same level of insane regulation that's stopping them from being made now.

Their town in California actually issues warnings that children, pregnant women and the elderly should never drink the water due to pesticide contamination and nitrites...but somehow, allowing an effective filter into the state would be wrong.

See, here we go, now I'm venting...ha. We all need it, and restrictions around clean water are just killing me.
