Yes, that's exactly right. There are pictures in the article of how much the fall planted garlic has grown by the time this spring planted garlic even gets in the ground. In the end, spring planted garlic will always have smaller bulbs than fall planted...but it does still produce wonderful bulbs anyway. Good sized, but the gigantic sizes you can get with a perfectly tended fall planted patch.
