Hello! I thoroughly enjoy, respect and am thankful for all your knowledge and your work and willingness in sharing. Thank you. I have been wondering if you have ever made your own pectin - preferably powdered form that can be used especially for jam canning. I know there are no pectin recipes out there; but powdered pectin really does make the process a but more foolproof for myself. Maybe a new article someday??
That is a really good topic. Actually making it in powdered form is tricky, but there are a few ways to make it from apples or citrus and then can it in tiny jars. You then pop one open and add it to your recipes like powdered pectin. I'll add that one to my list to write!
A great resource for perennial bushes & trees in Northern vermont is Elmore Roots in Elmore. And Summersweet Gardens has awesome flowers & plants, many natives, both annual & perennial
I don't buy perennial herb seeds because I don't need 500 lovage plants (or whatever) - I only need one - and I don't know where to donate the extra seeds.

Elmore roots is great! We also love A Perfect Circle Farm in Berlin VT, East Hill Tree Farm in Plainfield and EC Browns in Thetford.
