I have a few recipes from my mother (actually a neighbor) . They are very old. None of them require yeast. The one for rhubarb wine says to add a handful of raisins to make it work faster. I just started my very 1st batch; Hope it turns out.
Thanks Ashley. For my recent batch of plum wine, I took the chance of leaving the pits in and just breaking the plums open. It was alot easier and the wine tastes great. Unless of course you want the pits for other uses, but I am here to say it works esp. if you have alot of smaller plums, to just give them a pinch and drop them in the fermenter. Best
Do you ever make wine or mead without added yeast? That's the way I like to do it. Admittedly, the results vary. 😀
