That is so awesome you guys grew your own Cacao tree!

I shared an article that explores the many health benefits of Cacao beans here:

https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/theobroma-cacao-mana-from-the-rain

And here is a fun recipe from my book that you may want to try with your future harvests.

Mole Polbano Dry Spice Mix and Sauce : https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/mole-polbano-dry-spice-mix-and-sauce

The article above also includes some information on the ingenious Aztec floating garden food cultivation system called Chinampas and I offer some ideas on how we might be able to use that technique here in temperate climates.

Nice, thank you!

Your welcome! I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on my theories about cold climate Chinampas.

I think the idea could be really helpful for people with peat bogs and swampy terrain on their land. One could conceivably plant things like cranberries, blueberries, nitrogen fixing blooms, fruit trees and then things like wild rice in the waterways.

For anyone who wants to learn about the many health benefits offered by Ginger Rhizome (and leaves) I wrote an article on that here:

Also, my most recent post is a fun recipe we like to use to enjoy our ginger harvests in a bright and flavorful Thai style soup.

Mmm...Thai soup...we eat so much homemade Thai food, and that sounds delicious.

Okay, regarding Berkey, seems interesting... now I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist but ....

Who benefits if Berkey gets effectively kneecapped? Very interesting information.

So I also haven't read any of the other comments but it may just be a coincidence or it may be a well thought out plan. Berkeys are very popular with off grid and preparedness minded folks. The self sufficient types. Just saying.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit. Sadly.

Thanks for doing the leg work and sharing the info.

I have been able to buy the Berkey filters through USA Berkey Filters - they are a little more expensive than the original Berkey site, but at least I was able to purchase them!!

I checked them, and they're currently out of stock on everything, but I'll put a link here for others in case that changes: https://www.usaberkeyfilters.com/product-category/berkey-filters/

Hi Kristen, at this point I don't have any extra bandwidth to take on new projects, I'm barely keeping up as it is, but thank you so much for the invite. Can you post a link to your substack here so other's can find it if they'd like to read it?
