So eggs when cooked (already scrambled and cooked) do great on a silicone mat. When raw, they just get under the mat as a liquid and make a big mess, and you're pulling the floating mat out of the middle of the mess. They're easier to freeze dry raw right in the metal tray, or if you have the ice cube tray like silicone inserts, those work really well for eggs and that's the way I do my raw ones. Pictures of that here: https://practicalselfreliance.com/freeze-dried-eggs/

Ahhhh thank you that makes perfect sense. I have the HR small hoping they have small silicon molds soon or cut down the mediums? Hmmm

Awesome! So glad I could introduce you to something new. It makes an amazing Christmas gift, and though we don't do candy often, it's one of those really neat gifts that really turns heads.

Please please tell me where to find Skittles for 2$ a pound. I'll buy 100 or 1,000 pounds of necessary. I have looked at many online bulk candy stores and I am not able to find anything close to this price. 12$ for a 50oz bag is the best I have found. I would really love to know anywhere that I can buy any amount, small or large for that price.

I love your information here, I'm reading many articles.

Much appreciated!

Your freeze dried strawberries in a glaze on sugar cookies had my mom's office wondering where I'd come from (5000 feet higher but I didn't say that), was just nice to be part of a Christmas party! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me to do more! Happy holidays my friend. Blessings to you and your family.

I love my FD'er and use it for many foods, but have not done candy. One thing I didn't see mentioned is that many states will not allow home processed foods to be sold, even at events like farmers markets. It's always a good idea to check your state's laws, and if they have a cottage food law. Thank you for the information!

Hi Ashley, We so enjoy your information. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to use most of it in our present living situation. I would love to see it all in book form to have it available for a long time all in one place.
