Things You Might Need This Week
12+ Ways to Use Bee Balm ~ While most people grow this perennial for it’s beauty in the flower garden, it’s also both edible and medicinal. It’s related to Oregano, and it’s used as a seasoning in the Medeteranean. It’s also a potent medicinal that we make into bee balm oxymel and bee balm tincture each year.
20+ Edible Garden Weeds ~ I know, weeding is no fun…so why not turn it into harvesting instead? Many common garden weeds are tasty wild edibles.
Homemade Worchestershire Sauce ~ This versatile condiment it really easy to make at home, and it’s amazing in summer burgers on the grill. Once you make your own, you’ll never go back to the store bought stuff.
Seasonal Preserving
This time of year, we’re canning everything under the sun and it’s hard to give you links to every single individual recipe. Instead, I’ll give you lists for every contingency, no matter what you’re growing or harvesting!
Here’s my master list of canning recipes, but I’ve also broken them down a bit further.

Things I’m Loving
Portable Power Banks ~ Earlier this week, I wrote a comprehensive review of all the portable power banks and solar generators on the market. I’ve been working on this for a year now, researching and testing various models…and I’m finally done. It’s over 8,000 words…and everything you could ever possibly want to know about portable battery power for camping and emergencies. My absolute favorite came from Bluetti, but if weight and portability is your main concern, Jackery makes them a bit lighter for camping.
What are you harvesting, preserving, building, or exploring on your homestead this week? I’d love to hear about it!
Leave me a note in the comments…
(Comments only, please. Emails tend to get lost in my inbox, and as much as I’d love to get back to each and every one, my screen time is very limited…and things fall through the cracks, and emails get buried in my inbox. If you comment here, they’re all in one place, and it’s much easier to get back to every single one.)
Until Next Time,

Thank you!!!
Ashley, do you ever sleep?😄. I can't wait to read the 50 meals in a jar. I haven't gotten the new electric pressure cooker you recommended, but hope to. I'm intimidated actually fill it with jars!
Thanks as always! You're VERY informative.
